Every great carnival begins long before it opens. Behind every exciting game, colorful attraction, and unforgettable experience is a group of people working together. They communicate, solve problems, take responsibility, and trust one another to create something memorable for every visitor. A successful carnival doesn't happen by chance, it is built through teamwork, shared purpose, and a community that cares about one another.
This year, our Elementary Eagles have been invited to design and prepare the Great Acton Carnival. Before Opening Day arrives, they'll discover one another's strengths, learn the systems that help their studio thrive, and build the trust that will carry them through every Quest and adventure ahead.
This quest will focus on team-building, working within the studio community, and developing habits and skills that will last a lifetime.
Per Acton tradition, the Eagles are also putting their big-picture thinking, project management skills, and team building into practice by planning and organizing a Lip Dub! The Lip Dub is a full-length music video that dubs over a well-known song. Eagles are responsible for 100% of the process. They plan choreography, filming, editing & publishing.
The Eagles are also creating new student contracts and rules of engagement this session. By developing new rules at the beginning of each year, the Eagles take ownership of the studio so that they can become confident, effective leaders in the space.
For our first exhibition, the Eagles will screen their Lip Dub that will demonstrate their hard work and team building in this session. Through working together, learners will design and host an original Acton Carnival experience that helps visitors discover what it feels like to belong to a strong community. Every attraction will invite visitors to experience a quality that helps a community thrive together, whether it's trust, communication, perseverance, creativity, leadership, or encouragement.
